According to a statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan, on Thursday, President Pranab Mukherjee launched a financial library and financial literacy centre to make the President’s Estate a monetarily comprehensive community. These moves were made on Mukherjee’s birthday to make the President’s Estate and Rashtrapati Bhavan more people-friendly.
As per statement, a financial awareness festival was organized in which residents of the President’s Estate and students of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya were participated and got the training of monetary literacy using a model bank branch of the State Bank of India.
The National Payments Corporation of India provided Rs. 25 to each student in the course of RuPay cards to educate them about card transactions and purchase books. Financial games, quizzes and other activities were also prearranged for students, children and parents. In cooperation with representatives of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, State Bank of India and United Bank of India, an action plan was hatched up.
