The Indian Institute of technology (IIT), Kharagpur is going to start a ‘centre for science for happiness’. The centre will help students to become happy and also to research the field.
The centre is been set up with the help of Satinder Singh Rekhi-an alumina of the institute.
The purpose of the ‘Rekhi Centre for Science of Happiness’ is to develop ‘happy technocrats’
The IIT also aims to create an environment to foster a meaningful life, happiness, well-being, holistic self-development and positive growth by promoting interaction among students, faculty members and campus community.
The IIT is also seeking to develop courses, research and training to scientifically explore the science of happiness.
The centre will hold the first workshop in August 2016.
