Kanpur: Now non-engineering students have the opportunity to listen the lectures given by IIT professors from IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Madras online for free for the students of IITs, as part of program by HRD Ministry.

As per the ‘Massive Open Online Course’ (MOOC), seven professors from IIT-Kanpur and five professors from IIT-Madras will start teaching for 18 different online courses for students from both engineering and other courses.

Professor Vimal Kumar of IIT-Kanpur, director of these online courses, told PTI that the 18 courses have been made online by recording the lectures of Professors from IIT-Kanpu and IIT-Madras. These courses would be helpful and valuable to those students who have dream of to be taught by IIT professors.

For the enrollment in online study, aspirants students have to register by 16th January, 2015 on the website designed for the online study (https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in) which will continue till 28th February, 2015. About 6000 students have already registered and have applied for this online study by IIT professor. The professors who would taught the students will be given certain remuneration.
