IITs are the most favourable choice of Non-resident Indian (NRI) parents when it comes to undergraduate (UG) education for their wards. All such students are required to sit for JEE main and get listed among top 1.5 lakh candidates to qualify to sit for the JEE Advanced and then get enrolment into the IITs and the Indian School of Mines Dhanbad (ISM Dhanbad).
According to the officials of IIT, IIT alumni who have resided overseas prefer their wards to join the IITs. Many of them prefer an IIT education as a favourable entry point into United States (US)-based or erstwhile worldwide academic institutes. The course syllabus at the IITs is also very comprehensive wherein the students can’t change the flexibility to substitute main courses.
It is also estimated that Class VI students preparing for JEE Advanced, increase their analytical thinking skills which help them to do well in higher education in foreign institutes. Previously, there was thinking that free enterprise is not promoted in the IITs. Actually, IITs are offering the deferred placement opportunity to increase entrepreneurship. The deferred placement is a good opportunity for all those students who don’t get succeed in their own business and are thinking of returning the campus recruitment process within two years. Now, the IITs are inviting a number of newly launched firms to take part in the campus placements sessions.
