President Pranab Mukherjee, on Nov 14 in New Delhi, awarded National Child Awards to 20 children for their outstanding accomplishments and capabilities in a variety of fields on the occasion of Children’s Day according to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan. Out of 20 awards, 5 were given to children from Karnataka, two each to Tamil Nadu and Haryana and one to the kid of Delhi.
Additionally, Mukherjee also gave the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards, 2014 to three people from Karnataka, Punjab and Uttarakhand for their excellent involvement in the direction of service for children. The awards were given to awardees at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On the sidelines of the function Mukherjee had meetings with the students personally and told them to look for motivation from the principles and sacrifice of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first PM whose birthday is distinguished as Children’s Day Nov 14. He also called upon schools, houses, classrooms and surroundings clean.
