Every year the joint Entrance examination Mains is held by the CBSE. JEE mains is the single gateway for the admission to NITs, IIIT, Centrally funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) as well as other engineering colleges and technology institutes run by the state governments and private institutions who have adopted JEE. The most decisive point about the JEE main exam is that only top 150000 candidates of JEE mains are eligible for JEE Advanced Examinations. The students who crack JEE Advanced successfully will be able to join the undergraduate programs any IITs according to their All India Rank. Hence it is very important for the aspirants to be thoroughly prepared for the exam according to the exam pattern.
Exam will be available in 2 languages, Hindi and English and cover 2 question papers that will feature in the examination – Paper 1 and 2. CBT will cover 3 separate section viz. Physics, chemistry and mathematics with equal weightage of all questions. Question paper will consist of objective type and numerical answer type questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. Some section will carry negative marking also. Each question will be allotted 4 Marks and every incorrect answer will results in deduction of 1 mark (one fourth of total marks).
Both the papers will be held in 2 sessions on 24th May, 2015. Paper 1 will conduct in morning time from 9:00am to 12:00pm and paper 2 will conduct in afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 5:00pm.
