As per the latest notification from Maharashtra Government, State Steering Committee (SSC) has put the fund on hold and this fund will not be utilizing in upgrading the ITIs many institutes were found misusing the fund under the proposed scheme.
The central government launched a programme under Public private partnership (PPP) Scheme 2007, in which is it is proposed to upgrade 1396 government ITIs throughout the nation. However ITIs are misusing the fund. Moreover, ITIs are not utilising the fund as per decided in Institute development plan (IDPs).
As per the research from Directorate of Vocational education and training (DVET), Maharashtra Government will not utilise Rs 450 crore funds which was issued by the centre for upgrading the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the Public private partnership (PPP) Scheme.
As per the officials state is having very limited funds for vocational education. Skilled workers are required in the industry. This PPP scheme is the project by government which aimed to increase the growth of the country and is one of the best projects.
As per the reports issued by DVET, there are 250 ITIs across the state for which INR 625 issued by the centre, out of which only 67.26 crore were spent.
