The UGC Rules Out Any Change in The Workload on University Teachers

After the intervention of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)  the University Grants Commission (UGC) has rolled back the increased workload on university teachers. It has  ruled out any increase in the overall workload of assistant/associate and professors. A meeting of all the teacher’s groups is now been convened on June 6, 2016. This meeting will be held to invite suggestions from them. In this meeting the issue of Academic Performance Indicators (API) score for promotion of university teachers will also be discussed.

The UGC also announced that the direct teaching-learning hours per week to be devoted by assistant professors (16 hours) and associate professors (14 hour) will also not change.
