The Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mulyani Indrawati, visited the Kasturba Residential School in Anoppura village and encouraged the girls to pursue higher education in order to serve the nation.
Indrawati visited the village with the bank’s delegation, encouraged the girls to get higher education so that they become eligible to be on higher posts and make the nation proud. She also explained the role of the World Bank while addressing the girls.
A release said, “The 10-member delegation of the World Bank also inspected the arrangements at the school and interacted with the girls, who shared their dreams and aspirations about future with them.” The team members were given a beautiful traditional Rajasthani welcome by the school staff and they visited the kitchen, library, toilet, computer and other rooms of the school.
While a meeting between the delegation and the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and the state officials, the delegation also reviewed the progress of several projects like The Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Project, Agriculture Competitiveness Project and Road Sector Modernisation Project, which are Supported by the World Bank. Inrawati and her team members reviewed them and expressed their statisfaction over the progress.
The state government’s project for strengthening rural roads network and the state government’s vision 2020 were also appreciated by Indrawati. The Chief Minister also explained the delegates that the state government’s focus is on improving energy sector and for providing quality electricity.
The Chief Minister also gave emphasis on the early approval from the World Bank for the second phase of state highways project and electricity reform project. Indrawati assured that a group of experts will be sent to the state soon to the process.
