Andhra Pradesh Government has taken a decision to implement digital classrooms concept from 2015 in all residential schools across the state as stated by the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said in Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister’s Office said, in a statement that Senior Tata ClassEdge officials along with CEO Nirav Khambhati called up Naidu at Secretariat and submitted a presentation on the concept. Mr Naidu advised the Tata Group entity to become a partner with Cisco so as to implement the programme. Tata ClassEdge officials say the children will be able to connect themselves on WWW and enable them to read books online easily and effortlessly.

According to Mr Naidu, this will reform the education system in the state up to great level and its estimated cost will be Rs. 5-8 lakh per class. The digital classroom concept will replace the standard textbook-and-blackboard approach as it helps students and teachers to make use of interactive multimedia content.
