The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay graduates have created the country’s first ever advanced personal robot for kids. The robot is named ‘Miko2’.
The robot is aimed to help parents in early education, and help in the development of children via playful learning. It will allow parents to conduct video calling on ‘wheels’ through Miko from anywhere in the world. It will allow parents to track and guide the child’s interaction with the robot.
The robot is equipped to hold long conversations with children. It is capable to impart academic and general knowledge to kids. It is claimed to be powered by a proprietary emotional intelligence developed by emotix. This helps the robot to identify and remember the child’s moods and adapt to them.
The new series of robots “Miko-2 ‘ is a major makeover from its maiden product, Miko that was launched last year. The newly launched product is enabled to see, hear, sense express recognize faces, talk, sense moods, initiate conversation and also remember names It can also learn from its environment and develop a bond with the child.
BASIC FEATURES OF THE ROBOT
- The cost of the robot that is Wi-Fi operated will be Rs.24,999
- It will be available at consumer electronic stores across the country from December 15, 2018 onwards.
- It has pre-loaded games, fun facts, riddles, rhymes, dance, music etc.
- It is loaded with ICSE curriculum, Amar Chitra Katha and Storywalker.
