The Madhya Pradesh government is all set to provide smartphones to nearly 1.5 lakh government college students in first year to fulfil its promises made in the election manifesto.
Madhya Pradesh Higher and Technical Education and Skill Development Minister, Uma Shankar Gupta told reporters that the distribution of smart phones to approx lakh first year government college’s students will start from January, 2015. Apart from this, the government also provided WiFi facility in 122 government colleges of the state until now.
He also said that for making partnership with international-level educational institutions, a single college in each division will be selected and to meet this goal, Bhopal-based College of Excellence has been chosen as nodal institution.
He informed that the State Public Service Commission has started to appoint candidates on the post of 1,646 Assistant Professors in government colleges to fulfil vacancies. Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) is also taking steps to fill 302 class-III posts in Higher Education Department. The minister also informed that 1.63 lakh students took admission in different ITI and Skill Development Centres in the state in the current year.
