National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a Pan India entrance examination conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS/AYUSH courses in India offered by Colleges approved by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
In order to get admission in Medical courses in abroad too, the medical aspirants have to first qualify NEET. The exam till now was conducted by the CBSE; however, from 2019 onwards, newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA) will take the baton from CBSE.
The examination will be conducted once a year in the pen and paper mode. Other than the change in the body which will conduct the test, there is no other alteration in the syllabus or the pattern of the Question Paper. It is the Medical Council of India (MCI) which decides the syllabus for NEET every year and the examination tests the students on the basic NCERT knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) of XI and XII standard.
The Official Notification of NEET
The exam is scheduled to be conducted on 5th May 2019. The official notification of NEET is out and the interested and eligible candidates can now register for NEET 2019.
