The Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics (SIG) Pune has invited applications for admission to Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geoinformatics for the session beginning in 2016. Those eligible can apply latest by February 15. Candidate’s performance in the personal interview and academic performance and written examination will be the le criteria for selection. The candidate must be a graduate in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Science, Agriculture, Management, Geography and Commerce with a minimum of 50 per cent marks from a recognised university. The dream of Kerala to have Indian Institute of technology (IIT) campus in the state became a reality. With 117 students, the 18th Indian Institute of technology (IIT) has launched its first academic session in the temporary campus in Valayar and it is expected that they will shift to a 500-acre permanent campus in Puthussery district within three years, after completion of land acquisition process and construction of buildings.
At this initial stage, IIT-Palakkad offers four b-tech streams- Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and mechanical Engineering. Surprisingly, only 6 students are from the state of Kerala itself and a majority are from Uttar Pradesh. According to the projection, Palakkad IIT campus will have 1000 students and 1000 strong faculty member in 10 years.
Addressing the students and parents through video conferencing, Human resource Development Minister, SmritiIraniencouraged the students and advised them to inculcate a social perspective and aim at developing a well-rounded life apart of focusing only on studies.
Admission test for these IIT were already conducted. For the very first time, Joint admission exam were conducted for 18IITs, 31 national Institutes of technology (NITs), Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad and other 18 government funded technical Institutions (GFTIs). JEE main Exam was held in the month of April and result was announced on 27th April. JEE Advanced was conducted on May 24. Lakhs of students appeared in the exam

The timing of the first round of the VITEEE 2015 counselling were declared by VIT University. VITEEE-2015 exam will be held from 8 to 19 April, 2015 but the University has already released the date on which a special title holders for the report. VITEEE is conducted annually by the VIT University for admission to undergraduate engineering (B. tech.). About 1, 93, 000 appeared for the VIT engineering entrance examination (VITEEE) 2014. The Institute offers undergraduate programs to 19, 34 graduate students, 2 integrated and 4 research programmes. VITEEE-2015 will be held in online mode. Candidates will have 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) to answer the question paper.
There will be three sections in the exam of physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each section will carry 40 questions. Therefore, in total there will be 120 questions in the exam. In addition, they will be of questions of multiple choice type and the candidates will need to attempt all.
