Many engineering colleges which have unsuccessful to give amenities as set by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) will not be authorized to work from this educational year. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) finished the examination of 164 colleges following the Supreme Court decree.  Nearly 10 colleges stopped JNTU inspectors from entering their campus.

JNTU authorities stated that the colleges which become unsuccessful to meet AICTE standards will have to close their function until they meet the morns. Authorities did not tell how many colleges will be shut down.  The inspection started on November 26 and JNTU will submit its report on this month end. All those colleges which stop functioning, students will get affected from that and thus they will have to shift students to other colleges essentially.

It was found that most of the colleges have less than half the necessary facility potency. Some colleges have breached the building rules. According to JNTU sources, most of the colleges have five big shortcomings- library, laboratory, building, land and faculty and they all will close.

The colleges which are lacking in minor facilities such as computers and other equipments will be given a conditional affiliation for one month under which they will have to remove errors.  There are colleges that have borrowed faculty members before the inspection. If such things are found, they will be punished. Many colleges have breached building norms in spite of many warnings.
