As the first phase of placements came to an end, IIT Kharagpur students are on top for getting the maximum number of jobs compared with other IITs as stated by institute officials. The first phase of placements was ended on Saturday which saw a growth of around 10% with 1,100-plus job offers and 1050-plus student’s participation.
This was acquired in spite of the academic institutions and PSUs decreasing their hiring numbers from the IIT campuses when compared with the previous year.
IIT Kharagpur had participation of over 200 companies looking forward ti hire for more than 275 profiles in first phase of placements. 50 companies have been registered for the second phase that will start in January.
ITC, Schlumberger, Goldman Sachs, Hindustan Unilever, Credit Suisse, Face book, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, The Parthenon Group, Baker Hughes, Visa, TSMC were top companies that visited the house and selected 10 or more students.
Vice President of Technology Students Punj Rajan lauded the alumni community of IIT Kharagpur and said that it was a group effort of the career development centre which witnessed this tremendous result.
Companies such as Robert Bosch, Housing, Commonfloor, Meru Cabs, ZS Associates, Capgemini, EXL, Snapdeal, Stayzilla, OYO Rooms, Flipkart Cognizant made multiple offers and hired students aggressively for various roles.
