British Council kicks off IELTS awards for 2015

The British Council has declared the commencement of the British Council IELTS (International English Language Testing System) award for 2015. To mark the landmark of IELTS 25th birthday, this year ten awards will be offered to Indian students to help them Finance the cost of studying abroad. British Council IELTS Awards will give a total of Rs 3.9 million in education awards to students from across South Asia, as well as for the first time, students in Bhutan and Nepal.

“British Council IELTS Awards have been designed to help Indian students to pursue higher education abroad once they took the first step, confirming their level of English language ability with IELTS,” said Sarah Deverall, Director of examinations in India and serving clients in South Asia, British Council.

Over the past five years, 40 students from all over India received a British Council IELTS awards for various courses around the world, including dramatic arts in the UK, the law of the United States and technology in Germany, among many others.
