The Central University of Orissa, Koraput is planning to start a new post graduate course in Sanskrit from the next academic session with the consideration of significance of the ancient language. The chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Miyan had a meeting of the Executive Council of the University and took this decision on Monday.
The university officials said Sanskrit sustained to be the vehicle of original and all other academic work and is a part of our cultural heritage. Therefore, it should be given due importance in any educational institution. In the beginning, the university will start two year MA programme and after that it will launch research programmes in Sanskrit.
