Nepal vice president Parmanand Jha paised India’s late educationist and freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya on his birth anniversary and said his value based learning to the world which is still significant. Malviya has been selected for India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna along with former prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee by the central government.

Jha was attending a function organised by Madan Mohan Malviya Mission in KATHMANDU. Malviya established the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and become one of the pioneers of the freedom struggle acting as a middleman between the Moderates and the Extremists.

While highlighting the contributions made by Malviya in spreading value based learning in the Indian sub-continent, Jha said, several Nepalese got education from this University and have been displaying their talent in many areas in the country today.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae asserted that ancient relation existed between Kashi-Vishwanath and Pashupatinath and highlighted the need to nourish the present bond of friendship between Nepal and India from time to time. BHU originated several Nepalese scholars, intellectuals, politicians, litterateurs that are holding great positions in Nepal in different fields and they highlight the closer relationship between these two countries.
